The 1st Global PMTO Conference

Welcome to the 1st Global PMTO Conference official website! 

The conference was held in Oslo, Norway from 25^th to 26^th May, 2011. By bringing together nearly 200 PMTO practitioners and leaders from around the world, the conference aims were twofold: to build an international PMTO network and to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the certification of the first Norwegian PMTO therapists.

On the 25^th May, the last topic for the plenary symposium was "Clinical issues", and the basis for this symposium was a book chapter by Patterson & Forgatch (2010). This chapter extends the coercion model by specifying five structural changes that emerge when families engage in habitual and extended coercive interaction. Now you can download the chapter in either English or Norwegian here!

Attendance at the conference will pass as a supplementary training course (etterutdanningskurs), in accordance with the new rules for maintenance of certification (vedlikehold av sertifisering).
